About

My name is Michelle Gallagher. I am a mom, wife, and special educator. I have two children Aidan and Arianna. My husband is Tim. I have worked for over 20 years in special education. I have worked in most facets of the special education world. The settings I have worked in include residential, collaboratives, public school and sheltered workshops. I have experience in everything from kindergarten through adult programs and everything in between. 10 years ago my daughter was born and diagnosed with Williams Syndrome. My work since then has become deeper and more personal. I have spent years trying to get other educators to look beyond her label and SEE my daughter as the exceptional amazing person she is. My passion now is to help other parents do the same for their children.

Michelle I love your blog but for some reason I cannot view your last on about high turn over rates. Correction….I can see it but can’t comment on it. I may have clicked something I shouldn’t have. I am a bit tech illiterate so could be it. When I go to comment it tells me to try again. Content not avilable.

I think what happened is I signed out of Facebook while on that page and lost it. I don’t know. If you can help me get it please do. Appreciate it. Thanks.

Michelle, I have just found your blog and I LOVE it! I am a mum to 3 children with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease or Ehlers Danlos syndrome (or both)! I am also a teacher, although there isn’t the time or energy for that right now. I completely relate to your ideas about the education system, I have definitely become ‘that mum’ in my school. I have just started writing my own blog, quite frankly writing is cheaper than therapy. Mystripylife.blogspot.co.uk
